class descriptions

Mixed Level
The content and emphasis of these classes will vary using vinyasa/flow style as a framework, linking movement with breath. Classes are open to all levels although some beginner classes are recommended before starting mixed level classes.

All Levels -

Non-Vinyasa

Suitable for Beginners.  This class will take you through an asana practice without the framework of full sun salutations as its basis.  Those with wrist, low back and shoulder issues will find this most beneficial.
Beginners
Introduction to the fundamentals of posture practice, breathwork, and vinyasa. Focus will be on developing a strong foundation on which to build a practice.
Level 2 Vinyasa
This class is a dynamic sequence of postures, including more advanced postures, for int./adv. students looking for a challenging endurance edge.

Yin Yoga

Transform you practice. A meditative seated asana practice with longer holds that affect deeper layers of tissue. Suitable for beginners.

Taoist Yoga
A powerful combination of yin postures(passive muscular experience), yang postures(active muscular experience) and meditation  Suitable for all levels.
Restorative Yoga

A gentle class that promotes healing and relaxation throughmeditation, breathing techniques and a nurturing

sequence of opening and strengthening postures

which honor and restore areas of physical challenge

or compromised function.Classic yoga stretches and posturesare modified to be less strenuous.

No prior yoga experience required.

Ashtanga Yoga
The first series of Ashtanga Yoga as taught by K. Pattabhi Jois. A dynamic sequence of postures and breathing that works to systematically throughout the body to build strength, flexibility, balance and endurance.  There will be modifications offered.  Some mastery of yoga is required.
